Since the opening of 1947, SeoKyeong University has been striving to training talents based on a student-centered education, practical training center.
In the wave of internationalization and globalization as society becomes more diverse in the 21th century,
our university is at a time to become a prestigious university to train leaders to play an active part on the world stage over the nations universities, leading universities. We have already carried out over decades joint degree system and students exchange program with sister schools in the United States, Britain, Japan, China, Russia, Taiwan, etc. so many foreign students have studied in SeoKyeong University, and Language & Culture Center was newly established in 2016 in order to establish a university commensurate phase of the history of 65 years.
Our Language & Culture Center SeoKyeong University offers professional faculty and communications center of practical education, the best training facilities and systems , a variety of training programs in the field of linguistics. In addition, all members of the Language & Culture Center will respond flexibly to changes in a rapidly changing society and do our whole strength in mind that research and education, and serve.

▣ Korean Language Courses
1. Introduction
The Language & Culture Education Center of Seokyeong University is offering Korean Language Classes for international students of Korean undergraduate and graduate programs or for those interested in improving Korean language skills for the purpose of job acquisition.

* Please note that your placement into a class will be based on your exam results. Exams will be conducted after all required documents have been submitted.
▶ Student visas are not available for the evening course. Thus the evening class will only be available to those who have current legal residence in Korea.

● Criteria for completion
- Students must maintain an overall average of at least 70% to complete the course.
- Students must maintain an average of at least 60% in any given subject area of one
class to complete the course (i.e. listening section).
- If you fail to attend 80% of the classes (more than 4 absences), you will fail the course.
2. Admission and Enrolment
● Qualification for application
- Regular course, courses for beauty arts majors, immersion course :
Students who have graduated from high school (or equivalent) or higher education are eligible to apply.
- Special course : Application requirements are subject to change.
● Enrolment process
- Download the application from the web site.
- Scan the required documents with the application form and submit by e-mail.
- Students from China or other countries outside of the visa waiver program will need to provide original documents (not scans) and should submit these by mail.
- You will be notified of acceptance 2-3 weeks after Seokyeong has received your documents.
- If accepted, Seokyeong will send a letter of acceptance to potential students. After receiving this letter, students should visit the Korean Embassy to apply for a visa. Visa application at Korean Embassies is typically about 1 week.
● Tuition payment
- Instructions on how to pay tuition will be given to students after they have been accepted.
- Tuition must be paid to the school bank account.(Details on the website.)
- Tuition must be remitted in the name of the applicant.

3) An original Graduate Certificate in English (or English school certificate) of the final school

※ If you submit a certificate of bank balance under parents' name, the family relation certificate must also be submitted.

7) Insurance policies
* The scanned submitted documents will not be returned.
▶In the case of aD-4 visa application requested after January 1, 2016,TB high-risk country nationals must submit an official hospital TB report including chest X-ray results to the Embassy of South Korea in accordance with the Guidelines for visa and residence for foreigners with tuberculosis. To inquire about designated hospitals, please contact the closest Korean Embassy in your country.

● Insurance for international students
1) Every student is required to take out an insurance policy. Students, who already have an insurance policy in their home country, should submit relevant documentary evidence to the Language & Culture Center.
2) All other students must apply for Korean private insurance or national health care.
● Placement test
- The placement test will be conducted the week before classes begin.
- Placement tests focus mainly on writing and speaking.
●Benefits
-Students enrolled in the language institute who want to major in Beauty Arts are invited to observe classes and participate..
-Before enrolling in the Beauty Arts program, students are also invited to join a Beauty Arts study group.

● Seokyeong Language and Culture Center Scholarships
1) Scholarship for enrolled students
All students who are enrolled in Seokyeong University (including exchange students) will receive a 40% discount in tuition.
2) Scholarship for highest grade
Each quarter, the person with the highest grade in each level will receive a 50% scholarship for the following quarter
3) Scholarship for family member of teaching staffs
The children of Seokyeong faculty will get a 50% scholarship.
4) Scholarship for siblings
If siblings enroll, both siblings can get 10% off of tuition.
*Students will not be eligible to receive more than 1 scholarship at a time.
● Seokyeong University Scholarship Opportunities
Proficiency Scholarship
After completing a minimum of three quarters in the Language and Culture Institute and obtaining a TOPIK 4 grade (TOPIK 3 for Beauty Arts majors),students will receive a 50% tuition discount for Seokyeong University (after enrollment).
